Snow on the ground, new website, and lots of good music happening in the studio! Several new projects have started up and several on-going ones are still on-going. Clea's new album is about half-way done, you can hear some demos on her myspace page here. Local Hip-hop artist Crowe recently released his debut LP with a CD release party at Plush Lounge in Calgary. You can check out his website for more info. Also, Philippe Majerech Syndrome will release his debut CD "Traces of Everything", an eclectic mix of folk, rock, R&B, and blues on May 31 at Ironwood. The album was recorded at Glow Music Arts from May-November 2006. More details to follow...
Congratulations to Funk/R&B band Souls in Rhythm for winning the 2006 Unsigned Vibe contest from Calgary's Vibe 98.5 radio station. SiR wins $100,000 towards their career and a distribution deal through Maple Music (Universal)!!
We managed to slip away for a two week holiday in the beautiful interior of British Columbia but most of the summer was spent fine-tuning some exciting new projects. Jasmine Whenham will release her much anticipated debut full-length CD this October. The album is a soulful blend of folk and pop and features eight original songs as well as two covers. Also coming out this fall is the debut recording from Eccentricity, a very talented up-and-coming singer/songwriter and a new solo CD from Sudanese-born singer/songwriter Ceaser Mayen. More info on these releases to follow.

Souls In Rhythm will release their much-aniticipated debut album on April 22, 2006. The 11 track disc contains songs primarily written by former "Earthtone" member Scott Henderson. Featuring an original mix of live instruments and programming as well a skillful blend of Modern R&B, Classic Funk and Soul, Rock, Pop, and Blues, the CD was co-produced by Henderson and Craig Newnes at Glow Music Arts. The Release party venue will be announced shortly.

The album was Produced, recorded and mixed by Craig Newnes at Glow Music Arts and Mastered by Bobby McAlister. Congratulations to Jasmine Whenham for winning "Best Song by a Newcomer" and finishing second for "Best Song" in the Ship and Anchor / Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting competition. Her winning song "This Girl" was recorded by Glow Music Arts in 2004. Click here to play a clip of "This Girl". Singer / Songwriter Scott MacLeod has started recording his debut full-length cd with Glow Music Arts. The album will feature 11 of Scott's great original roots / folk songs with performances by his band and a host of local studio musicians. Look for a release sometime this year, and be sure to check out Scott at A Bar Named Sue on June 3, or Jackdaw's on June 4.
Country Singer / Songwriter Corbie Dorner has just completed work on his long awaited debut cd "A Singer's Life". The disc features Corbie on guitar, piano and vocals as well as Producer Craig Newnes on bass, and Adam Esposito on drums. The disc will go to press next week so look for copies in local stores soon.
